NetMidas is a software development company based in Cali since 2007. We have produced websites and web applications for a broad range of clients, including large multinationals (including Apple), startups and international NGOs, as well as our own products. Now we are looking for an ambitious Tech Lead-Senior Engineer to work directly with an exciting U.S. client.

We're looking for a highly experienced individual engineer or hands-on architect engineer to join our dynamic team in Colombia as a Technical Lead. This important role involves providing critical technical leadership within the Colombia division and working side by side with a team of talented professionals.

Scope

Perform technical lead of the client’s platform: Review the architecture and software to identify weaknesses that will affect the platform as it scales. Identify specific issues that need to be rethought or corrected as well as opportunities for optimizations (eg. cost savings, performance and security improvements). Deliverable will be a detailed report that contains specific areas for improvement and optimization, and a general evaluation of the technical aspects of the current platform.

Requirements

Must Haves

• 7+ years in software development
• 3+ years as a leader or mentor
• Fluent in English and Spanish (Written and Spoken)
• Proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, and GoLang.
• Understanding of microservice architecture and SaaS products.
• Familiarity with Amazon Web Services (AWS) technology stack.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively articulate technical matters to diverse audiences.
• Proven experience as a technical leader in the domain of Apps and Integrations.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Foster a cooperative and empathetic work environment by interacting with team members and other tech experts in Colombia.
• Collaborate closely with local and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure transparency and effective communication about delivery plans and strategies.
• Guide engineers in the Colombian division to cultivate top-tier software development practices, which includes technical design reviews, tech talks, and personalized technical coaching.
• Serve as a technical co-creator, working alongside product and design teams to efficiently address challenges as part of our product roadmap.
• Facilitate technical communication within the teams, enabling bidirectional dialogue between the Colombian division and the rest of the company.
• Work with other tech leads across the organization to enhance the architectural roadmap and execute technical improvements.
• Exhibit strong communication skills when interacting with a diverse range of audiences, including engineers, product managers, sales personnel, and external stakeholders.
• Contribute to product development processes by providing robust technical insight to achieve balanced product/technical trade-offs.
• Support the Colombian Hub Leader with the long-term technology architecture vision, influence the product roadmap, and define contracts and boundaries between team ownership and perimeters.
• Advocate for new technologies and best practices within and beyond the team.
• Design and implement improvements, develop new features, and solve existing problems to ensure high-quality, secure, scalable, resilient, and maintainable solutions.
• Continuously enhance production metrics that affect both internal and external customers.
