We have worked with a broad range of clients including large multinationals (including Apple), startups, international NGOs, and our digital products. We are looking for an iPadOS and macOS Q/A Engineer with development knowledge to work directly with an exciting US client.

About our Client

A US company that develops a suite of iPad and Mac apps for legal professionals to assist them in all stages of litigation, from reviewing transcripts to presenting evidence. It has become a must-have tool for lawyers who want to achieve success for their clients.

Position Summary

The ideal candidate is detail oriented, loves testing, can set up devices, can create testing scripts and plans, and has an interest in development.

Required Skills

Must Haves:

• Strong ability to communicate in English (Professional English proficiency).
• 3+ years of professional experience as a QA Engineer.
• Proficiency in iPad and Mac environments, with a deep understanding of system settings, configuration options, and potential integration challenges.
• Solid experience in software testing, issue investigation, and defect reporting, with the ability to document comprehensive reproduction steps.
• Proficiency in writing and maintaining test scripts
• Strong familiarity with defect-tracking software 
• Excellent written communication skills for compiling reports and release notes.

Highly Desired:

• Experience with XCTest or similar testing frameworks.
• Experience with automated testing and Continuous Integration environments. particularly on iOS/iPadOS and macOS platforms using tools like Xcode Cloud.
• A proactive interest in not only identifying but also resolving minor code bugs, with an eagerness to learn more about software development.
• Familiarity with Xcode, Swift, and Instruments.
• Strong collaborative skills to work effectively within a small, dynamic team, with a willingness to take on varied tasks as needed.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Test iPadOS and macOS software to ensure all requirements are met, and applications are free of defects and usability issues across multiple device types.
• Regression testing, including verifying compatibility with supported OS versions and identifying potential issues with pre-release (beta) OS versions.
• Document and triage issues using issue tracking software (Shortcut), maintaining clear and actionable bug reports.
• Develop, maintain, and update both manual and automated testing scripts.
• Investigate issues referred by technical support, triage effectively, and suggest practical workarounds.
• Proactively monitor logs and crash reports for emerging issues.
• Compile detailed release notes that effectively communicate changes and impacts to customers.

Compensation, Contract, Terms

• USD 20 per hour, paid monthly.
• Contract: Freelance (prestación de servicios) with our company in the US.
• Full-time position.
• Start date: ASAP
